How To Host Your Own Introductory To Essential Oils Workshop
If you truly bond with and love the essential oils, then why not share your excitement with others. We know from experience they will thank you in the future. Seeing others come to love the oils and discover their health and lifestyle benefits is very fulfilling. And it can be fun.
An easy way to share the oils is to hold a workshop or class. There you will have the opportunity to talk to like-minded people and share the benefits of these amazing oils.
So here are a few tips based on our experience on the "how to" for running a successful essential oil workshop or introductory class.
STEP ONE - WHAT’S YOUR OBJECTIVE?
Why am I doing this? Our objective has always been the passion and the desire to share. So if you have that passion and desire to share, that's really all you need.
STEP TWO - WHAT’S YOUR PLAN?
The planning stage is so important. With proper planning, the delivery becomes so much easier. And, DoTerra has great tools that can help and guide you to host a successful event.
"The Empowered Success" program doTERRA offers either to purchase or download is build around a tried and proven system used by many of the most successful doTERRA leaders. The system works. It provides a step by step process that will guide you all the way from planning to presenting your own workshop or class. Start with the following:
Nature's Solutions Booklet - Provides a step by step script you follow to run a workshop or class. Simply read from the booklet until you become confident. Also contains the kits people can purchase, the price list, and the enrolment form your attendees use to open their very own doTERRA account. Order these online when you place your normal monthly order. Or you can download here.
Empower Kit - Contains 30 Nature's Solutions Booklets, 10 x 5ml Wild Orange Essential oils and 32 Invitations you can personalise to invite people to your class. Its all done for you.
As you become more confident the "Empowered Success" program provides further tools in the form of "Live, Share and Build" booklets that provide lots of help and guidance that you can use to "ramp" up your workshops or classes. Check these out at here.
STEP THREE - HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU WANT TO INVITE?
Think about the size, the number of people you want to have at your class. We think a really good number is five to eight. Starting out, you don't want to have a big number.
STEP FOUR - LOCATION
Think of a location. Are you happy in your own home? Do you want to do a café, library or something like that.
Now, who to invite. Like-minded people, work colleagues, friends. Anybody you think could benefit from hearing about or using the essential oils.
STEP FIVE - THE WORKSHOP
Keep it simple.
The tendency can be to want to overload with information. You don't need to be the expert. You don't need to know everything. You will certainly know more than the people who attend. So it is about keeping it simple and keeping the meeting fairly short.
COME PREPARED - PRESENT THE PRICE LIST AT THE BEGINNING OF THE WORKSHOP
People often think, "what are they talking about". What are they going to ask me to do? Is there a catch at the end of it? Do I have to buy stuff?
Explaining right at the beginning and saying what is being spoken about is a must do. Provide everyone with a price list, information about essential oils, options on how to join, and explain that you will be filling them in with full details at the end - there will be no surprises.
TELL YOUR STORY
Most important - tell your story. Once you have welcomed and pre-framed with the above information, before you start taking lids off the oils, tell your story. Tell your story with passion. Tell your story with commitment because you know how the oils work and how they have changed your life. You're doing the class because the oils have spoken to you and you want others to have the same experience. You know the great benefits they can deliver. So tell your story. It is the absolute key factor.
WHAT OILS DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT?
Don't overload people with information. We believe just speaking about five or six oils is plenty.
Oils that are included in basic kits such as the Home Essentials Kit are a great starting point. Go for oils such as Lavender, Lemon, Peppermint, On Guard and Frankincense.
The important thing is to take the lids off. Get them to have a smell. In fact, the oil does the talking. Once they smell the oils, then you give them more information.
HOW LONG SHOULD THE WORKSHOP GO FOR?
About 40 minutes. If you go any longer, you're overloading them.
CLOSING THE WORKSHOP
Tell them how they can get the oils. That's why they are at the workshop or class. It's really important to explain the ordering process.
Explain how they can share the oils because they might want to one day. They may wish to build a business. If you don't share this information you are not giving people the opportunity to decide for themselves and to know what is possible. Don't spend too much time on this, just let them know they can talk to you afterward if they wish.
It's also important in the close to mention the loyalty rewards program. You can download a flyer that explains the basics of this program that you can simply read from here.
And the last most important step. It's vital you establish a "contact point" to be able to stay in touch with the people from the class. People will come to the oils in their own time. Some might be moved that particular moment to enroll, to join, to buy a few oils. Others may want to go away and think about it. But it's vital to keep in contact with them, to provide more information if they need it and to make them feel they are part of your community. Its a simple matter of saying "can I give you a call in a few days to see if there is any further information you might require". Again keep it simple
